For a decade I am trying to contact CBS news yet never heard back from you. I wrote tens of essays that were usually hand delivered to CBS’s messenger center. What I wrote is more than sufficient to expose how corrupted and how inferior the rebuilding process of the new WTC is. I firmly believe that 60 Minutes will be able to “prosecute” the case justly before the American public using a small portion of the materials I provided. The rebuilding process is as important as New York herself. It is hard to imagine any peace time news that is worthier than this. When we remain silent knowing full well, that New York is taken for a ride, we become involved in the wrong doing. Waiting more than this will not help make the story complete, it will make the crimes completed. The construction started already on ground zero and the 10th anniversary of September 11 is approaching rapidly. Here is one of the essays that I wrote Mike Wallace and it is included in the book.
After September 11, the vision my Master of Architecture thesis provided in 2000 became a lot more important and building the new WTC anywhere else other than the expansion my thesis found will be wrong. I wanted to present my idea wanted to alert the authorities the media, even entire country if possible, that my idea is both logically and nationally coercing. It is also victorious for NY and America. That is my first story.
I found myself right in the middle of the second story. After the creation of LMDC which is the government-formed entity that oversees the rebuilding process, NY and the entire country were watching enthusiastically to see the new designs. Naturally I kept following the rebuilding process. Wanted to share in the rebuilding efforts and possibly have my project discovered, heard, critiqued or even defeated, by the rebuilding process. I kept watching the news of the rebuilding process closely. In the beginning I was cautious. With all the billions that LMDC has to spend, with all the legendary architects I was expecting a decisive quick defeat for my project. In fact I was searching for a defeat in a form of a design that will be better than mine and I’ll silently concede and that will be it. While searching for this defeat, found many victories. It was clear my project will not be defeated it was America, they were trying to defeat.
Signs of something wrong were visible soon after the inception of LMDC. In the beginning I was in disbelieve yet it was so obvious that it was wrong. I kept telling myself that it must be a new American way of doing things that will supersede all what we learned in schools and in life, and soon we will know the secret and will realize that it is right. While “soon” didn’t show up until now (2005) what kept consistently showing up were the mounting evidences of wrong doings.
Story two is about corruption. The TV news magazines are full of those. However story one is a unique story and it is the kind of story that TV news magazines should be filled of. If I am allowed to report only one story I’ll choose story one. In fact story two conclusions add many more compelling reasons for you to use story one.
Story two describes that every step the rebuilding process attempted until now, either questionable, incompetent or corrupted. Analyzing the past in order to read the future and see what is in-store for New York, It is a mathematical certainty that it will be more of the same. This process involves a sever hemorrhage of wasted billions of dollars, wasted years of precious time and more importantly misleading every American in the country, that the rebuilding process is going well while it is not

Then I wrote objectively about story two lately I am wondering should I write more? What I wrote is quite sufficient to expose the rebuilding process. I firmly believe that 60 Minutes will be able to “prosecute” the case justly before the American public using the materials I provided. At the matter fact you can do this successfully using a portion of the material that I sent to 60 Minutes. The rebuilding process is as important as New York herself. It is hard to imagine any peace time news that is worthier than this. When the forces of good retreat the forces of evil proceed. When we remain silent knowing full well, that New York is taken for a ride, we become involved in the wrong doing. Waiting more than this will not help make the story complete, it will make the crimes completed.
When my first story was not heard by the LMDC, it became the Media’s responsibility to hear it. Since both my stories are of an unparalleled importance to New York, it became evident that my stories have to be heard on the highest possible level. That is why I contacted you. I firmly believe in your competence and the competence of 60 Minutes institute. Since your patriotism is unquestionable, it gave me one more reason why it should be 60 Minutes that hear my stories. I knew that you will investigate every thing that I say thoroughly, trusting my work and my writing gave me another reason, because I knew that will further authenticate my stories.
Since I started to write 60 minutes, I did my best trying to rise up to the occasion of addressing the most competent journalists in the world. I utilized my passion for architecture alone with my humble abilities to write in English. The language that I used to write 60 Minutes which bares some resemblance to English, was my best effort to write in English. I hope you were able to understand. I used my simple resources to the best of my abilities. I gave it a lot more than all what I have of money, I gave it many years of my life. I bid all of these on your competence. At times it looked as if I was bidding the safety of my family on your competence.
It is not that America lacks design talent or the wealth to fund it. The reason is while we have overwhelming wealth and surpassing design talents, we have something else that we shouldn’t have, corruption, it disables the design talents and make the wealth feels like poverty. Even the developing world is capable of constructing a significant architecture and running design competition.
One of the many surprises that I encountered was not only how incompetent some of architects and the administrators that ran the competition, were, it was equally surprising how bad of a crooks they were. They clearly documented every wrong doing they did on public TV.
The rebuilding process sustained irreparable harms early in the process. There is no way it can be repaired . It does not matter if they done every thing from now on in saintly righteous way it will be as bad as doing things the most evil way. In a way doing things an evil way will be better for the country it will expose them quicker. It is very likely to find evidence of incompetence and wrong doing in the future work of LMDC, but why reaffirm what was undisputedly affirmed? Why wait to discover more wrong doings while there is a clear pattern that allows us to forecast the future? Why waste more billions of dollars while the harm that was done was irreparable.
All what I wrote in the past few years was written almost exclusively for 60 Minutes, even when I shared my story with any other media outlet, I always made sure that you are way ahead in the amount and the quality of information. While I trusted my stories to the best, my stories have the potential to make a best out of just about anyone who is willing to use them.
